Critic Reviews for Game of Thrones: Season 6

All Critics (29) | Top Critics (13)

This may be the most crowd-pleasing, enjoyable, well-directed, streamlined, visceral, breathless, suspenseful, exhausting and expensive episode of "Game of Thrones" yet.

The ship has sailed. The ash has settled. The watch has ended. The door has closed ... In moving away from the books, they cast off the shackles and started hurtling towards the endgame. It was exciting, emotional, and epic.

Two action-packed episodes into the new season, it looks like this could be the show's best one yet.

John Hanlon Reviews

Few shows on television look better than this one, but it's coming up on great-drama retirement age. Game of Thrones is getting older. But it's not dead, yet.

The world the characters inhabit is still a hugely dangerous one, but at no point did I feel as though the writers were showing us beautiful butterflies in preparation of pulling their wings off.

Audience Reviews for Game of Thrones: Season 6

It's been many years since I've enjoyed a program anywhere near as much as I've enjoyed this season of Game of Thrones. The second 5 I've given to a TV show to date.

I'm currently up to episode 8, and that sentiment holds.

It breaks free from the source material, there were some good input but other decisions were questionable.

Driven by its undaunted drama, bloody-epic sequences and mysticism Game of Thrones Season 6 rises back up from its slump. The acclaimed series continues (and this time, with unknown factors of its unpublished canon) with sheer complexity and allure making for one its most revered seasons in the series. 4.5/5

Despite a couple 'slow' episodes, season six provides us with the two best episodes of the series, and some of the best television programs in history.
