It's gripping and moreish and explores huge themes through a simple thriller, well told.
But there is also something uniquely different about Seven Seconds: the fact that a Black woman gets to be the imperfect hero.
Even though I would give up on Seven Seconds every couple of episodes, its weird, wintry world stuck with me and made me want to return, again and again.
Despite its pacing and acting flaws, Seven Seconds raises a compelling question about when -- and for whom -- justice is served in this country.
