I have not given up on Vikings in any way. But I am feeling like it has lost some its emotional resonance.

Azure-eyed ex-underpant model Travis Fimmel puts in a career-defining turn as Lothbrok. That his fidgety, howling, transmogrative performance has never met with any award is something of a travesty.

It's simply some of the best character-driven historical drama out there, filled with politics, mysticism, a fantastic cast of characters, and terrible betrayal.

It looks like we're in for another great season of political intrigue, cultural clashes, fascinating characters, and, yes, even some kickass battles.

Hirst's writing is so brilliant, I'm sure were in for another wild ride.

It's consistently well-made, entertaining, and held aloft by thought-provoking ideas.
